We were recently awarded a Department for Transport T TRIG ( Transport Technology Research Innovation Grant ) to test and trial DriverNet’s SmartPass site entry system. Development is well under way with live testing scheduled to take place in mid to late May to measure the potential impact SmartPass can have on reducing queueing times and emissions outside customer sites.
We were invited to Telefonica’s HQ London to receive our first winners award after being selected as one of the top 5 tech start ups in the North of the UK. We are looking forward to join the Wayra accelerator in February 2017 and becoming part of the wider Telefonica Open future global start up community, which has helped 150 UK tech start ups secure investment since its launch in 2012.
After partnering with the Digital catapult and Bradford University in May, Ant is also now looking forward to joining the steering group of the EU funded Northern Logistics Academy, based in St Helens. The Academy provides industry focused training and qualifications in real life transport and warehouse environments to feed skilled employees to the rapidly growing UK logistics sector.
Whilst the graduation ceremonies took place, the DriverNet development team met at Bradford University to begin collaboration with our colleagues from Toulouse Institute, one of the leading IT centres in France. We are looking forward to working with Dorian, Pierre, Will, Jordan and Remi throughout the summer.
